E3 09 – ‘Shatter’ for PSN

This is a self-published game from Sidhe, the developers of GripShift. Shatter combines the standard “Brick-Breaking” elements of games like Arkanoid, but adds MUCH more in terms of gameplay and variety by infusing elements of puzzle games and SHMUPs.
More after the break…

By using the push and pull mechanics, you can play almost an entire round without the ball even touching the paddle. Also, the more items you hit, the more power shards appear, which can be collected by sucking them in, or bounced off of your shield to act as weapons. Mix-in bonus rounds, an incredible Electronica soundtrack, and Boss Battles, this is easily one of the best PSN titles at E3 2009.

  • WOW, that looks awesome, you guys are probably the only ones who covered this game, while everyone was talking about gow3, uncharted 2, and MAG, you guys cover shatter. How did everyone else miss this, was it in the back of E3 next to 99 knights 2 and the new leisure larry or what?

Agreed. Glad you caught this one, as it looks phenomenal!

  • Wow this does look really great, Day 1 buy for me. When is it expected to be released?
The guy didn't sound to enthusiastic as you guys were but than again who knows how many times he had to talk about the same thing at E3.

  • That looks even better than I what i got from the debut trailer they released alittle while ago. Looks like a really fantastic addition to PSN

    Nice………….

  • They hope to release in early summer. The expected price is VERY nice as well, but we can't say since it's not fully determined yet. I seriously got hooked right away on this game, and I didn't want to put the controller down.
