R.E.M. and T. Rex DLC for Rock Band Coming Next Week

Harmonix and MTV Games announced that next week’s round of Rock Band DLC would include tracks by British glam rock band T. Rex and alternative rock legends R.E.M.

T. Rex Pack 01, a three-pack of T. Rex favorites will include “Cosmic Dancer” and “Jeepster” from 1981’s Electric Warrior and the 1972 single “Children of the Revolution.” These new additions join “Bang a Gong,” already available on the Rock Band Music Store. A previous announcement revealed T. Rex’s “20th Century Boy” would be featured in the Rock Band 3 soundtrack.

Eight R.E.M. tracks, spanning their entire career, will be included in this latest offering as R.E.M Pack 01. Their early years are represented by “Radio Free Europe,” from their 1981 debut Murmur, “Driver 8,” from Fables of the Reconstruction, “These Days” and “Superman” from Life’s Rich Pageant. From the late 1980s comes “It’s the End of the World As We Know It (and I Feel Fine)” from Document and “Stand” from Green. More recent tracks include “What’s the Frequency, Kenneth?” from Monster and “Living Well is the Best Revenge” from Accelerate.

T. Rex Pack 01 will be sold on the PSN for $5.49, while R.E.M. Pack 01 can be picked up for $13.49. Individual songs can be purchased for the standard $1.99. All of the songs included in T. Rex Pack 01 and R.E.M. Pack 01 will be available for download in the LEGO Rock Band Music Store except T. Rex’s “Jeepster” and R.E.M.’s “Living Well is the Best Revenge” and “What’s the Frequency, Kenneth?”
