Namco Announces Pigsy Side Story DLC for Enslaved

Pigsy was one of very few characters in Enslaved, as most of the game is spent roaming a lonely world with Trip and Monkey.  But despite the small cast, Ninja Theory made sure that every character stood strong, with interesting personalities and fantastic writing.

Now Namco plans to release a DLC dedicated solely to Pigsy, in a side story titled “Pigsy’s Perfect 10.” Regarding the unforgettable NPC, NAMCO writes:  “Pigsy, the comical porcine character known for his one-line zingers and questionable hygiene, finally gets his time in the spotlight. The Titan Graveyard is a lonely place and Pigsy really needs some companionship beyond the mechs that roam the area. He dreams of the perfect woman and embarks on a mission to build one from scratch using scrap parts he finds around the junkyard. In contrast to the main game which features strong, capable Monkey as the playable character, Pigsy is much more of a lover than a fighter. Pigsy’s gameplay will have a completely different gameplay dynamic, with a focus on stealth and sharp-shooting. He has plenty of tricks up his sleeves including a far-reaching hookshot, trusty sniper rifle, various grenades and devices, Trouble Vision eye piece and the aid of his trusty mechanical sidekick Truffles.”

In addition to the Pigsy side story, Namco has also announced that the DLC will come packaged with a 3D update for the entire Enslaved game, which includes Pigy’s Perfect 10.  The 3D update will be available for, both 3D televisions (utilizing active shutter glasses), as well as 2D HDTVs, with the use of the TriOviz 3D glasses (which were also used for Batman Arkham Asylsum’s 3D mode).

No word on the release date for this DLC or the pricing, but NAMCO did say to expect it later this year, which translate to “within two months.”

Enslaved weaved a very interesting story and stood out with memorable characters that kept gamers engaged in their adventure.  It’s nice to see a single-player story-related DLC from time to time.
