FIFA Soccer Tops 100 Million Units In Sales, Celebrates With Free DLC

Electronic Arts Inc announced that the FIFA soccer franchise has sold more than 100 million units lifetime. For those who are fans of the beautiful game that would normally be enough to cause excitement. However, EA has announced free DLC to commemorate this milestone. For the first time in franchise history FIFA 11 Ultimate Team is available for free download from the game’s main menu. This online mode is one of the franchise’s most popular and charges players with crafting the ultimate squad by earning, buying and trading players. Once you have an unstoppable team you can compete in online and single player tournaments that are updated weekly. And if you want to earn bragging rights over your footie-addicted friends you can take on their ultimate team in Play a Friend online matches, a new feature this year in FIFA 11. Even when you are away from your console you can still keep your head in the game via the Ultimate Team web app. This swanky little application allows players to still engage in the full auction and trading system via any online gadget. So, if you are in the middle of your commute and want to auction off that aging forward you never use, go for it, and have some salary money freed up by the time you hit your front door.
