Dezaemon Plus! And Blockids Out Today on PSN

If you grew up with the original PlayStation, or just want to see what all the fuss was about, than MonkeyPaw Games has been feeding your retro game addiction for the last few months now. They’ve delivered PS1 classics like Alundra and entries in the Arc the Lad series, in addition to more obscure games like Money Idol Exchanger and Sonic Wings Special. Their latest offerings are Dezaemon Plus! and Blockids.

Dezaemon Plus! is for everyone who loves shmups and has a bit of a God complex. It allows you to create your own shooter, from the sprites to the boss characters, and even the music. Love lush old school visuals? Then throw in some parallax scrolling to give your game creation that extra flair. Think you can do better than Treasure and Cave? Go for it, and share your creations with friends, via memory sticks, on the PS3 or PSP.

If your tastes run more toward the Breakout end of the gaming spectrum then Blockids has you covered. Using that classic as an inspiration, Blockids has you busting through three-dimensional arrays of multicolored blocks. Throw in a visual style that could only come from Japan (who doesn’t love a mermaid and a ghost with a witch hat) and you have a retro game that harkens back to the classic arcade days.

Both titles are available now in the PSN Store under the Import banner and can be purchased for $5.99 each. Now go bask in retro-gaming goodness.
