Full Online Co-Op Available For Lara Croft And The Guardian Of Light

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light took the franchise in a completely different direction, and for most, this was a welcoming addition to the Croft franchise.  While the game maintained the puzzle element of the traditional Tomb Raider games, it dropped the third-person mode for an isometric view of the action, and Lara adopted the dual-stick control scheme familiar to fans of games like Super Stardust HD and the upcoming Dead Nation.

But Lara also took upon a partner in the game in the form of an Aztec guardian named Totec.  Totec was fully playable in co-op mode (and made for some clever puzzle-solving and combat), but up until now, co-op was limited to local play.

Players can now download both the online co-op mode, as well as the new “Things that go Boom” free DLC.  Packing up to four new challenge maps, which include the obvious puzzles, traps, and intense combat situations, the new DLC looks to deliver to those anxious to test the new online co-op mode.  The DLC will be available free for up to 30 days, after which the price will be $3.50.

If available through the PSN store (and you’re still on the fence about the game), it’s almost recommended to download the DLC while it’s free, and hang on to it, should you decide to purchase the game later.
