Latest F.E.A.R. 3 Trailer Shows Off Divergent Co-op

A newly released trailer for the upcoming F.E.A.R. 3, developed by Day 1 Studios and published by Warner Bros. Interactive, shows off the title’s most unique feature, divergent co-op. So what is divergent co-op exactly? Well, it’s each member of a co-op pair having unique abilities. You can play as Point Man, a fairly standard FPS character, who can slow down time and duck behind cover, or Paxton Fettel, who has the ability to use various supernatural abilities, like telekinesis and possession. You combine forces to move through the game with a co-op partner. However, you aren’t just holding hands the whole time, while you need the other person to progress through the story, you are also trying to get an individual score. So there is definitely an interesting push-pull mechanic in place. How much do I watch my co-op partners back and how much do I try to up my own score? Watch the trailer and get ready to find a buddy because F.E.A.R. 3 is slated for a May release

  • This has for the first time made me interested in the Fear franchise, looks pretty cool. Graphics looked bit lacking, though.

    • What I played at PAX “looked” great, but I was kinda underwhelmed. The level we played in co-op was pretty confusing.
