Duke Nukem Returns On May 3rd

If you said, “Pigs will fly the day that Duke Nukem Forever is released,” you were 100% correct.

The game finally has a release date (May 3, 2011), and you will be sending the pork invaders to hell in style.

“Put on your shades and prepare to step into the boots of Duke Nukem, whose legend has reached epic proportions in the years since his last adventure. The alien hordes are invading and only Duke can save the world. Pig cops, alien shrink rays and enormous alien bosses can’t stop our hero from accomplishing his one and only goal: to save the world, save the babes and to be a bad-ass while doing it. The King arrives with an arsenal of over-the-top weapons, non-stop action, and unprecedented levels of interactivity. This game puts the pedal to the metal and tongue firmly in cheek. Shoot hoops, lift weights, read adult magazines, draw crude messages on whiteboards or ogle the many hot women that occupy Duke’s life – that is if you can pull yourself away long enough from destroying alien invaders. Duke Nukem was and will forever be a gaming icon, and this is his legend.”

The new trailer promises a delivery on every single element that could make its way into the well-deserved M-rating, including some promising vehicular sequences.  Only time will tell if the game delivers on gameplay, as previous Nukem games have either been hit or miss.  But judging by the insanity that is this trailer, there seems to be some love put into bringing Duke back into the limelight.

Nice graphic. I didn’t know that they allowed that many qualifiers in an ESRB rating. Maybe they added more just for Duke.

Funny how it’s rated 17 seeing as that’s how old I was when I decided to buy this game.
Guess I will still keep that promise to myself at 30…
