Alice: Madness Returns Trailer

Never trust catepillars. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. One minute they are sitting there peacefully smoking a hookah on a mushroom, and the next thing you know they turn into a creepy butterfly, and a pair of phoenixes turns the world into a fiery inferno. Oh, and always have a knife handy in case you need to stab an ambulatory teapot in the eye. These are the lessons I’ve learned from watching the latest Alice: Madness Returns trailer. Serving as a sequel to American McGee’s Alice, which never graced consoles, this outing follows Alice once again across a Wonderland that looks like a deranged mash up of The Nightmare Before Christmas, Clive Barker character design, and the grimmest of fairy tales. While the trailer doesn’t show off any gameplay footage, if it follows in its predecessor’s footsteps we can expect third person action all across Wonderland. You still have time to work on your Cheshire Cat grin as publisher EA and developer Spicy Horse are planning a Q4 2011 release for Alice: Madness Returns.
