Blu-ray Releases: March 1, 2011

I’m just not sure what to say about this week’s Blu-ray release schedule.  More importantly, even if I could find the words, it probably wouldn’t help things much.

Here are some of the releases for Tuesday, March 1, 2011:

  • Bambi (1942)
  • 127 Hours (2010)
  • Burlesque (2010)
  • Faster (2010)
  • Out of Sight (1998)
  • Daughters of Darkness (1971)
  • Michael Jordan to the Max (2000)
  • Scooby-Doo: Curse of the Lake Monster (2010)
  • Love and Other Drugs (2010)

One might be inclined to snatch up a copy of Disney’s Bambi – while it’s available.  Then again, a movie staring Christina Aguilera might be worth a look if, for nothing else, to see if she’s any more capable than she was during her pathetic – and disheartening – performance during the most recent Super Bowl.  How about a guy named after a chunk of granite?

If I absolutely had to – if my life depended on it – this week’s pick would begrudgingly go to the James Franco, based-on-true-events, story – 127 Hours.  Although I’ve never been able to figure out how James Franco has made it as far in Hollywood as he has – outside of his performance in Pineapple Express – this particular story would hopefully prove to be interesting.

Have faith fellow PSNation readers and Blu-ray enthusiasts, I promise next week is bound to deliver.  Keep in mind, as you wait with bated breath, it’s not always quantity, but quality.
