Blu-ray Releases: April 19, 2011

If you think you can pry away from the PlayStation 3 Dualshock controller (it’s a big release week with the likes of Mortal Kombat and Portal 2) you might just find something to further entertain yourself with this week’s Blu-ray releases.  There are a couple of decent Blu-ray series available as well as another addition to the ever growing list of 3D titles.  If you’re still struggling with something to choose there’s always another straight-to-video Steven Seagal movie that no one has ever heard of.

Here are some of the releases for Tuesday, April 19, 2011:

  • The King’s Speech (2010)
  • Mortal Kombat (1995)
  • Mortal Kombat: Annihilation (1997)
  • Ip Man 2 (2010)
  • Rabbit Hole (2010)
  • Gulliver’s Travels 3D (2010)
  • Goemon (2009)
  • Short Circuit 2 (1988)
  • The Last Legion (2007)
  • Born to Raise Hell (2010)
  • Tokyo Gore Police (2008)
  • Earth From Above (2004)
  • Pushing Daisies: The Complete Series (2007-2008)
  • Terminator: The Sarah Connors Chronicles Seasons 1 & 2 (2008-2009)

This week’s pick is actually harder than I initially would have thought.  The B-rate action movie fan in me is screaming to add the original Mortal Kombat to my collection.  Just seeing the cover of the case immediately brings forth that techno-pop soundtrack.  Then again, the Sarah Connor Chronicles kept me entertained when it was first released as a weekly series in 2008.  And honestly, anything – and I do mean anything – with Summer Glau is almost immediately on my list.

Why don’t we make it interesting this week and you decide for me.
