Fallout: New Vegas – Honest Hearts Trailer and Screenshots

Get ready to experience Zion National Park, one of the most visually striking places I’ve ever been, through the lens of Fallout: New Vegas. Honest Hearts, the upcoming DLC pack drops you into a warped version of Utah.

Your caravan has been ambushed and as you attempt to return to the Mojave you must navigate among warring tribes, a Canaanite missionary, and the Burned Man. Presumably the Burned Man serves as the narrator of the trailer, given his talk of a baptism in fire, which along with his comments on being “the right hand of the Lord” suggest his conflict with the missionary is based on differences of religious ideology.

Being a geologist that has visited Zion I am impressed how well the unique landscape of the national park was captured. Just the few screenshots available demonstrate a feeling that you are walled in on all sides; a constant sensation when one travels through Zion. However, fear not Fallout fans there are plenty of the series’ trademark touches added to the environment, such as creepy petroglyphs and tribal warriors sporting trucker hats.

Honest Hearts will available on May 17th for XBLA and Steam and for the Playstation Network “on the earliest date possible.”
