PSP Blockbusters Headed to PS3 in Japan

Sony Computer Entertainment Inc (SCEI) has announced a new series of games will be available in Japan that will bring various PSP hits to your PS3. This new Remaster Series will take existing PSP titles and have them “customized and developed specifically for the PS3.” Remaster titles will be released on Blu-rays with enhanced features for the PS3, including SixAxis and DualShock 3 controller support, new add-on content, and stereoscopic 3D (for some titles). The most exciting news is the interconnectivity between the PSP and the PS3 allowed by Remaster games, allowing you to transfer saves back and forth between the devices. So when you get home with your PSP you can keep playing on your big screen TV via PS3. Currently this program is planned to “start in the Japanese market” with no specific plans announced for its introduction into the North American market at this time. The first title getting the Remaster treatment is Monster Hunter Portable 3rd HD Ver., from Capcom, one of the latest in the million-selling Monster Hunter franchise. We will keep you posted on any announcements regarding additional Remaster titles and any possibility of the Remaster series coming to our shores.
