The Devil May Cry, But We Won’t

I’d like to think that the community here at PSNation is a pretty positive group. This includes our swashbuckling Podcast hosts. Yeah, we’ll nerd rage about things, but at the end of the day, we’re all gamers, playing games, and enjoying this hobby and all that it entails. As a huge fan of the Devil May Cry series, I was a bit taken aback by “Dante’s” new look. “They made an Edward Cullen out of my foul-mouth badass,” I shouted to the heavens.

But I adopted the “judge it when you play it,” philosophy a while back, and after seeing this trailer, I feel that the new Devil May Cry may still deliver, despite our hero’s makeover. I feel that Ninja Theory won me over with Heavenly Sword, and I personally enjoyed every moment of Enslaved. These guys have proven that they know how to tell a story, and whether or not this Dante (or whoever he is) turns out being as emo in script as he does in appearance, I’m hoping that Ninja Theory knows what we expect and that they will deliver it with their own personal added touch. The trailer does instill confidence in one element, though. There is plenty of ass-kicking to be done, and nothing has changed in that area of gameplay.

What do you guys think?

I agree, Ninja Theory knows how to make entertaining games that are also incredibly beautiful to look at.  I have all kinds of faith that this will turn out much better than we’re hoping.

So wait…the white haired original dante still exists in some form as a transformation? Well, thats cool, because I seriously hate this Edward looking one…the game still looks exactly like a Devil May Cry game though, which means insta-buy from me. And like everyone’s saying, these guys aren’t strangers to this type of game.
