Sound Shapes Trailer

PlayStation Vita has some amazing titles announced for it. While Uncharted: Golden Abyss may have most of the spotlight at the moment, the game that has my attention is the quirky Sound Shapes, designed by Jonathan Mak and developed by Queasy Games, the folks that brought you Everyday Shooter. The trailer shows off the simple level creation tools, from laying down some basic beats to actually overlaying the environmental obstacles. A completed level can be shared with others and they can platform through it, interacting with the environment and adding their own personal touch to the creator’s original music design. This little game seems to encompass a lot of the Vita features that people are getting excited about, with an intuitive touch interface to create levels and connectivity with other Vitas allowing content sharing. Mix in a clean, abstract and utterly arresting visual style and you have what may be the sleeper hit of the PS Vita lineup.

Very cool use of the touch on the Vita but I’m not sure I can get into heavy touch screen gaming.  Doing any type of touch gaming on my phone has never been a fun experience at least for me.  I do however like the concept of games that use the tilt functionality of a phone so maybe there will be something in store for the Vita that uses the same concept.

My son (and I) would love that game! Just something to show off your creativity.
