X-Men Destiny: Gameplay Trailer

While various details about X-Men Destiny, being developed by Silicon Knights and published by Activision, have been floating around for months, fans have been waiting to see the game in action. Well this latest trailer fixes that, as it shows off gameplay. The combat in the trailer focuses on some classic X-men, including Cyclops, Wolverine, Nightcrawler, and Gambit, wailing on some generic military grunts. A few long time villains put in an appearance, such as Magneto, Juggernaut, Pyro, and Mystique, but don’t directly battle the mutant superteam. The most interesting element of the trailer is seeing the new characters created for Destiny, Aimi Yoshida, Grant Alexander, and Adrian, showing off their own mutant abilities and fighting alongside the X-Men. For those not up on what these new characters look like, Aimi is the asian girl with stripped leggings and a scarf around her neck with some sort of projectile ability. Grant sports a letterman’s sweater and slams the ground sending shockwaves radiating in all directions. Adrian is wearing a tight shirt and a backpack while he does somersault kicks into opponent’s faces. X-Men: Destiny is currently scheduled for a September 2011 release for PS3.
