Free-to-play Resistance game incoming

Insomniac Games have revealed a new online strategy game, Resistance Global, at Comic-Con this weekend.

Announced at a panel which included voice actors, art director and animation director from Resistance 3, the free-to-play title sees players battle to control territory on a world map; choosing to fight for the humans or the chimera.

Global has been designed to allow gamers to unlock XP boosters, multiplayer skins and titles for the main game, launching in September.

Here’s the official line from Sony:

“Customize your base, build and deploy your personal arsenal alongside thousands of other players, or attack on your rivals directly in head-to-head skirmishes. Will you join the Resistance… or crush it?”

The beta is already online, but requires a Facebook login to access. If you take part, be sure to leave your views below in the comments section but first, check out the HD trailer:

  • I would like to enter.

  • I’ve been playing for about three days now and I am addicted as all hell.  These are the kind of games I like where I can take my time and plan out attacks instead of having to monitor it every second of the day.  Definitely tons o’ fun.

have you unlocked many things for the full game yet?

      • I have unlocked some MP skins, some artwork, and ‘tagnames’ so far.  I’m currently a level 13 Chimeran Commander.

thats cool, hopefully the resistance 3 mp will live up to expectation…

  • I just started playing this now and it isn’t too bad. Interesting, although I wish it was a PSN game for some reason.
