Sony named as GameFest headline sponsor

GAME have announced that Sony will be the headline sponsor for GameFest this September. The event is the first one of it’s kind from the retailer and one of the very few gaming expos in Europe.

Sony were the last of the major console manufacturers to sign up for the show, but now has taken centre stage and will be treating PlayStation gamers to one of the most highly-anticipated sequels in years, Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception.

GAME had this to say:

“With Sony on-board as a headline sponsor, we are confident that our show is going to be a success. We know that attendees want to get hands-on with PlayStation products and we are delighted to bring Sony’s key titles to UK consumers at our inaugural event.”

The event looks promising but with GAME, there’s always a chance it could end up as nothing more than a marketing ploy. UK gamers will find out on 16th September in Birmingham. Ticket prices seem fairly reasonable (£10 adults, £5 kids) but GAME‘s reward card is required to purchase.

If any PS Nation listeners in Britain are planning to go, leave a comment below. More info can be found at events.game.co.uk and here’s the full list of exhibitors:

Wasn’t going to until I saw Sony are the headline Sponsor. £10 doesn’t seem so bad now. I will try and go to this.

I’ll send some pics and my thoughts to you PSNation guys if you want.

i may be going too but not too optimistic atm, seems nobody else is interested in going and it’s pretty boring on your own at one of these things.
