More lay-offs at Disney studios

Following on from last week’s closing of BlackRock, more people have now lost their jobs.

Another Disney development team – Avalanche Studios – had to cut 20 staff. Recent games to come out of the studio were Toy Story 3 and Cars 2.

Disney themselves have released a statement reading:

“Avalanche Software has completed a restructuring that resulted in the reduction of a small number of positions.”

Whilst an anonymous worker, who suffered from the redundancies, told Gamasutra that “budget issues” were the cause.

I hate layoffs. Not those people will have to scramble (if they don’t have a backup plan) for a new job.

  • This is too bad Toy Story 3 was pretty good, kind of like GTA rated for Everyone. ^_^
