Crysis headed to PS3 in October

The 2007 shooter that was just too hot to handle for many a PC is now headed for console. Crysis was well-known for it’s stunning graphics and didn’t get a release on home consoles at the time.

Next month though, the FPS will be available for download on the PlayStation Store for $20/£15/16Euros.

Rumours have been doing the rounds for months after it was submitted for a re-classification. However, it is somewhat of a surprise that it hasn’t arrived on disc format.

Cevat Yerli, Crytek CEO, had this to say:

“We are extremely proud of what we were able to accomplish with Crysis. We set out to create a next-generation FPS and delivered a PC experience that became a benchmark for quality- and still is for many gamers even four years later. By bringing the single-player campaign to console, we believe we are again setting a new standard for quality in downloadable gaming.”

Its successor was released on PC and console simultaneously earlier this year, garnering generally positive reviews.
