Shank Returns!

A little over a year ago Shank was first released on the PSN and quickly became one of my favorite downloadable games of 2010.  After playing through the campaign and giving the co-op a go I gave it a more-than-worthy review grade of B.  The side scrolling combat was some of the smoothest I had played all year and it was bloody and brutal fun from the minute go.  Now, Klei Entertainment has announced a 2012 follow up to the story of Shank – and I truly couldn’t be any happier.  As if there weren’t enough games, both disc-based and downloadable, to look forward to already?  Too much of a good thing certainly does not apply to the millions of gamers around the world and this announcement is just one more reason to believe it.

Here are some of the features and a hint of the story Klei Entertainment will have us impatiently waiting for sometime in 2012:

The fan-favorite pulp fiction 2D brawler is back as ex-mob hit man Shank returns to action in Shank 2. With those closest to him under attack, Shank is once again forced on the offensive.

Now he must put to use his trusty arsenal of dual handguns, chainsaws, machetes, plus all-new weapons and a brand new set of moves to protect those close to him. Shank 2 expands on the original game’s amazing visuals and combat system to redefine the 2D side-scrolling brawler.

Killer Features:

  • Online Co-op Survival Mode
  • Redesigned Combat System
  • Richer Environments
  • Amazing Visuals

Sleep well my fellow gamers . . . sleep well.
