Breaking: GTA V is coming!

Rockstar Games: possibly one of the only companies in the world who can bring the internet to a standstill merely with a holding page. That’s what they’ve done this morning.

Gran Theft Auto V is real and is on it’s way – the publisher uploading the new logo to their website RockstarGames.com.

It’s followed by the date for the unveil trailer, which will be arriving in only 7 days time.

We’ll be sure to post more information as it comes. Any thoughts on GTA? Excited for the new game? Leave your comments below.

yeah, it’s so like rockstar. forget E3 and TGS, just pick some random day and upload an image.

  • This is great! I know it’s unlikely, but i’d like to see some tie ins from previous characters. What happened to C.J? What happened to Tommy?

a new main storyline and then some more DLC episodes with old characters? we can only dream…

Totally excited!  It seems a little weird to me that it’s called GTA5.  Shouldn’t it be called GTA(insert city name) instead?  The way they have been going, with the exception of GTA2, that GTA5 should be on the PS4.  Just a thought.

Curious about the five dollar bill symbol in the logo. GTA games have always stuck pretty close to an organized crime/mafia storyline in the past. Could this symbol indicate that you will be working for more corporate interests? Maybe a dirty tricks squad for a company that is looking to sabotate the competition or boost profits off the back of the working man? Rockstar has always had interesting, though not terribly subtle, social satire, and with news events like Madoff and the banking collapse in recent history I’d be interested to see what spin they would put on those events. Of course, the symbol could just indicate a big heist story, which, while fitting in the mold of the previous GTA games, would be a little disappointing, since it’s pretty well trodden territory. All speculation of course, but hey that’s all we have at this point.
