Community thoughts: GTA V

In hopefully the first of many articles, I’m looking to do a joint post with the PSNation writers and community members. In this trial run, we’ll be focusing on the announcement of Grand Theft Auto 5.

If you want to get involved, here’s what to do:

  • Write up a short paragraph or so on your predictions for the new game, or thoughts on the series. For example, you could give your opinion or speculate on the launch date, any returning characters, the location, new game mechanics, or anything else on your mind.
  • Send that to [email protected] (clearly stating “GTA Feedback” in the subject header) and be sure to include the name you use for commenting on the site, so everyone knows who you are!

That’s it. Simple. Please get involved guys – it will be good to get the PSNation community more connected to the site and if you have any thoughts on improvements to the format, leave a comment below; we’re always open to suggestions.

Thanks and look forward to your opinions!

  • I could never get into this series like others could. But always wanted too. But it just never grabbed me like some other games/series do. Looking forward to see what they do in 5, but probably will not get hyped for it. I much rather see Rockstar do Bully 2 or RDR 2.

Yeah.. Sorry in advance for the bible I emailed you. :/

  • I loved Red Dead Redemption. I really liked L.A. Noire (which obviously was not a RockStar-created game, but was produced by them). I just couldn’t get into GTA 4. I don’t know why, I played a good 14 hours of the game, but it just seemed… exhausting. I liked the wide-open feel of RDR. I liked the linear storytelling of Noire. I think I just felt… claustrophobic in Liberty City, if that makes sense.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m excited to see what the Rockstar/Take-Two crew has in store for GTA V. And I’m interested in Max Payne 3, even though I’ve not played the previous two (didn’t have a PS2). But I’m not nearly as excited for GTA as I am for BioShock Infinite, Mass Effect 3, and the launch of the Vita.

I think I saw in an article it might be set in LA. So assuming this I believe it will involve the “gangs” in LA under different names of course with the usual sex and drugs. I was hoping GTA 5 would be put out on the new consoles , but seeing how long this cycle has been GTA will probably be able to make this game look and play amazing due to the time they have had if they used it wisely in learning and dealing with the PS3 technology, could be the best in the series….visually at least.

  • i didnt like l.a. noire it was like homework for me. gta is my fav series, u could do almost anything u want. so was rdr and i hope rdr 2 comes soon after. its kind of hard for me to get excited for gta 5 mainly because it could just be a 4.5 to gta 4 and i really dont want it to go to ny or cali again its so repetitive. i would like it to be in boston only because i live there but its a close look to ny. it would be cool if it went to ireland or somewhere new. the story needs to get better from gta 4 it stretched a bit at the end. i want the story to be long but not stretch. THERE NEEDS TO BE MORE OF A VARIETY OF CARS, NOT DRIVE ONE BLOCK AND SEE 5 OF THE SAME CAR. also i want more of a customization in this game there was in san andreas and then they took a step back in gta 4. PLEASE AMAZE ME ROCKSTAR

  • gta is my fav game but gta4 was not the best i just hope they did better on gta5

Saints Row 2 was what GTA4 should have been.  I am much more looking forward to the new Saints Row game.

100% Raj. Hey Rockstar, make your game not a chore to play (see gta3 and vice city if you unsure how to do this, apparently you guys made these back in the day?)

    • Raj S.M.

exactly. rather than do everyday things like waiting at a subway station, i’d like to do stuff i can’t in real life. for example, shooting down 25+ helicopters in quick succession with an rpg whilst on a boat.

Nice idea Raj. Will send my GTA feedback after this.

Will also look into adding a way to add the feature into the PSNation app.
