20 best sellers of 2011 so far

The top 20 selling games from January-September 2011 have been revealed through Nintendo’s financial reports. Sony have managed to take top spot in two regions – FIFA (Europe) and Monster Hunter (Japan) taking the honours.

In fact, PlayStation has 12 of the 20 top titles in Japan, while in Europe it continues to rule the roost over the 360. Disappointingly though, no Sony first party game made it in Japan or the States. Meanwhile, Nintendo miraculously had games released in 2006 (!) and 2009 still doing extremely well.

However, I’m hoping some figures are released at the end of the year too – titles such as Batman: Arkham City, Modern Warfare 3, Uncharted 3, Battlefield 3, Skyrim and Assassins Creed: Revelations could well turn the tide in Sony’s favour.

Wow, Japan has way different gaming tastes of the US. Doesn’t surprise me, though.

It surprises me that the Pokeyman games are in the top 5 in Europe and the U.S., but NOT Japan.  Maybe they’re finally tired of it?

LittleBigPlanet 2 and Killzone 3 for EU?  Goes to show that Americans have no attention – ooh piece a candy!
