Transformers: Fall Of Cybertron Trailer And Making-of Video

The Video Game Awards introduced us to a number of premier trailers.  One of them was the Transformers: Fall of Cybertron cinematic trailer that hints at new characters and play mechanics.  While the trailer is purely cinematic, it does reveal that the game will feature the character(s) Bruticus.  Bruticus was a character in the original 80s cartoon and was known as a combiner.  The basic premise was that five individual Transformers would combine into one giant robot, that normally gave them a huge advantage in combat.

While the cinematic trailer doesn’t verify that the giant will be playable in the game, interviews, and the following making-of video shed some pleasant light on the subject of playing a combiner in the upcoming game.

High Moon has demonstrated time and time again that they “get” Transformers.  Even their movie tie-in, “Dark of the Moon,” managed to be decent, despite the expectations that typically come with releasing a game in tandem with a movie.

Check out the epic VGA cinematic trailer for Transformers: Fall of Cybertron below.  And then stick around and view the making-of video.  Transformer fans will notice some interesting character art in the background, namely a certain Autobot who transformed into a microscope.

What do you guys think?  Has High Moon Studios given the old 80s cartoon a breath of new life?
