Extravaganza of Vita launch news

Last night, Sony released a blowout of PlayStation Vita news, ahead of the February worldwide launch.

The biggest news is that there’ll be 25 games available on launch day – a fantastic amount of choice for a brand new handheld. EU / UK / AUS

The 1st party Vita titles were already revealed by SCEE around a month ago, along with the AR details. However, 3rd party launch games have still not been 100% confirmed, although titles such as FIFA Football and Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 are almost certainties.

SCEE did join their US counterparts yesterday though in releasing some new news, unveiling the prices of games and peripherals.

(Prices are listed as Europe / Britain / Australia).

Games:

  • Uncharted: Golden Abyss – €49.99 / £44.99 / $69.95
  • ModNation Racers: Road Trip – €39.99 / £34.99 / $54.95
  • Everybody’s Golf – €39.99 / £34.99 / $54.95
  • WipEout 2048 – €39.99 / £34.99 / $54.95
  • Unit 13 – €39.99 / £34.99 / $54.95
  • Little Deviants – €29.99 / £24.99 / $39.95
  • Reality Fighters – €29.99 / £24.99 / $39.95

Memory cards:

  • 4GB – €19.99 / £17.99 / $26.95
  • 8GB – €34.99 / £31.99 / $44.95
  • 16GB – €49.99 / £44.99 / $64.95

Accessories:

  • AC adapter – €9.99 / £8.99 / $12.95
  • Portable charger – €49.99 / £44.99 / $64.95
  • USB cable – €9.99 / £8.99 / $12.95
  • In-ear headset – €19.99 / £17.99 / $26.95
  • Starter kit – €24.99 / £21.99 / $34.95
  • Travel kit – €29.99 / £25.99 / $39.95

A very important note though – these prices are the RRP, so will not be the prices in reality. Of course, game prices are always sold at less than the RRP, and end up creating their own RRP. The current example of this would be full PS3 & 360 titles carrying a price tag of £50 and always releasing at £40.

In this case, I expect the titles to cost around £40 (Uncharted tier) / £30 (WipEout tier) / £20 (Little Deviants tier).
