My pick of the week is a tie. There are two Alfred Hitchcock directed classics releasing and both are amazing films.

Notorious, starring Cary Grant and the stunningly beautiful Ingrid Bergman, is a spy story topical during the time it was made (1946). Then there’s Rebecca with as strong a cast (if that’s even possible) featuring Laurence Olivier and Joan Fontaine. Take all that and direct it masterfully and you’ve got my two picks of the week. Simple really.

Oh, and did I mention they both also have strong stories? Especially Rebecca based on the classic french novel by Daphne Du Maurier. Read that one in high school English class it’s so strong. The film adaption is even better thanks to Hitch.

Any other Hitch lovers out there? What do you plan to buy on Blu-ray this week?

  • Almost overlooked Spellbound (until this comment). 🙂
Another great MGM classic Hitch film. I need a better paying job.
