Midwest Gaming Classic – All the Details!

The Midwest Gaming Classic (MGC) is an event that we’ve unofficially used as our chance to meet-up with our community and take the time to hang-out, play some games, and maybe have a beverage or ten.

MGC itself has been a long-running and ever growing event that started-out as a way for Atari fans to get together and trade stories. Now, 11 years later, the show has grown to become one of the largest pinball events in the country and houses an extensive videogame museum displaying essentially every gaming console ever produced. The best part (beside the humongous vendor room) is that Retroids has a dedicated, and very large room at this show, and in a partnership with the Galloping Ghost Arcade will house a bunch of true arcade cabinets for anyone to play (Any of the arcade and pinball cabinets at MGC are all free-to-play by the way.)

This year will be a bit different, as two of the podcasts that are usually present will actually be absent this year. We at PS Nation decided that since the Vita is now available, and is so new, that instead of setting a PS3 up at our able, that we’d rather set some competition up with some Vita titles like ModNation Racers: Free Ride and Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational (among others.) Beyond all of that though, the venue itself is very close to places to eat, including a mall and a Toys ‘R Us within walking distance.

For the last 4 years, we’ve tried to organize a couple of outings before the show actually gets going, and this year is no different. Since MGC is officially only on Saturday and Sunday, some people will be in town as soon as Thursday, so that’s when we’re getting started. Listed below are the locations where we will be on Thursday and Friday.

For dinner Friday night, please send us an email with the Subject “MGC 2012 Dinner” to let us know if you’ll be joining us, and how many you’ll be. We need to make a reservation for Friday night, so please let us know by the end of day on Tuesday the 20th. If you’re worried about travel to any of these venues, we usually have enough people with vehicles to accomodate everyone, and we’ll make sure that we’ll get everyone taken care of.
