Vote For The Cover Of NHL 13

Following up on the successes of the Madden and NCAA Football Cover athlete voting, EA Sports and NHL.com are teaming up to allow fans to vote for the cover athlete of the NHL series for the first time ever.

Starting today, three rounds of voting will be held, ending on June 4th in the midst of the Stanley Cup Finals. Fans can go to NHL.com/CoverVote to vote as often as they want to help their favorite players advance to the next round. The players initially available to vote for include the following:

Eastern Conference
Bruins     Tuukka Rask vs. Tyler Seguin
Canadiens     P.K. Subban vs. Tomas Plekanec
Capitals     John Carlson vs. Brooks Laich
Devils     Ilya Kovalchuk vs. Adam Larsson
Flyers     Claude Giroux vs. Scott Hartnell
Hurricanes     Eric Staal vs. Jeff Skinner
Islanders     John Tavares vs. Michael Grabner
Jets     Evander Kane vs. Andrew Ladd

Western Conference

Blues     T.J. Oshie vs. David Perron
Canucks     Henrik Sedin vs. Alex Burrows

Sharks     Logan Couture vs. Brent Burns
Stars     Loui Eriksson vs. Jamie Benn
Wild     Mikko Koivu vs. Niklas Backstrom

Sadly, no write-ins are allowed, effectively shattering my dreams. At the end of the first round on April 11, one player from each team (along with two wild card selections chosen by EA) will advance to the next round and voting will begin again.

From April 12th to April 22nd, fans will vote for their top 16 who will then advance to the final round. Then, from April 24th to June 4th, a single elimination playoff bracket will whittle down the players to ultimately decide the cover athlete.

Fans are of course encouraged to vote as often as they like and tweet their picks with the requisite hashtag #NHL13Cover. More information can be found at the EA Sports NHL Facebook Page.

  • It seems like I see that same picture of Glenn’s face pasted to a body all the time.

Now who is on the left and who is on the right? =)

    • ┬álol those are the only three pictures I ever use, the only change is in flipping them horizontally every now and then to fit wherever they need to go.

  • Let’s hope Evgeni Malkin gets the win.
