High Moon creating a Marvel title?

The team behind the last three Transformers games, High Moon Studios, look set to be making a new Marvel-based adventure.

According to Gamespot, publisher Activision and developer High Moon have booked a slot in the ‘Marvel Video Games’ panel at Comic Con in 10 days time.

Speculation is obviously rife at the moment as to what the new title will be; with the general consensus seeming to be gamers hoping for an original story, rather than one based on a movie. This due to the fact that High Moon‘s Transformers tie-in game (Dark of the Moon) was much weaker than the relatively well received War for Cybertron.

Personally, I can’t see an entire top quality game based on the likes of Hulk or Thor being viable, whilst Spider-Man is pretty well covered at the moment with yearly releases. X-Men is one that stands out most in my opinion, but Avengers could also be a solid option. The film gained a huge amount of critical and commercial success, and is currently without a console outing. Avengers: Battle for Earth is in development for the Wii U and Kinect, but there’s still room for a more traditionally controlled game on the PS3.
