Gearbox “would love to see” Borderlands 2 on Vita

The head of Gearbox Software, Randy Pitchford, has claimed he wants a PlayStation Vita version of Borderlands 2 – but that his studio don’t have the time to make it.

At gaming event Rezzed today, Pitchford told fans that he’d be excited by the prospect of a portable Borderlands experience; especially due to cloud saving. However, he said he’d like Sony to step in and find another development team in order to bring this idea to life.

Here are the full thoughts of the Gearbox president, via Eurogamer:

“One of the things I wish Sony would do is get behind Borderlands, because I’d love to see a Vita version of the game.

I want to be able to have the character I’m working on with my PS3, and then when I’m on the road with my Vita I can just keep developing that same character because it exists on the cloud somewhere. Technologically, that’s possible.

Perhaps some of you folks can convince Sony to start that. We’re too busy to develop it ourselves. But I know there are a lot of talented developers who could take our code, our source and our content and perhaps create something like that. That would be exciting to me.”
