An Ambitious New IP – “Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons”
“When I first visualised Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons I knew I wanted to combine the deep, engrossing storyline of a film with the physical experience of a video game, allowing players to emotionally connect with the characters as they trek across sweeping, interactive environments such as peaceful vistas, foreboding forests and dangerous mountainsides.”
This is a quote from Josef Fares, an award-winning film director who has made the transition into the video game industry with his new game Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons. He has teamed up with 505 Games and Starbreeze Studios to create this new title. Check out there trailer here!
“A man, clinging to life. His two sons, desperate to cure their ailing father, are left with but one option. They must set out upon a journey to find and bring back the ‘Water of Life’ as they come to rely on one another to survive. One must be strong where the other is weak, brave where the other is fearful, they must be… brothers.”
Brothers is an ambitious title from a master story teller. It appears to be in the same vein as recent titles like Journey, The Unfinished Swan, and The Walking Dead, which focus on an emotional, story-centric experience. One can only hope that Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons lives up to the precedent that those games have set.
Brothers is set to release in 2013 on the PSN, Xbox Live, and Steam.
