Sega Acquires Relic in THQ Auction

Sega have confirmed their acquisition of Relic Entertainment along with some IPs to help strengthen their PC division. Sega have not directly said what IPs they picked up in the THQ auction, but with their acquisition of Relic it is possible some of  those IPs include Warhammer 40k and Company of Heroes.

Sega of America President, John Cheng released the following statement,

“We are thrilled to have Relic Entertainment join the SEGA family. The acquisition is a strategic fit and a critical step in growing our business. They are a well-respected studio with a reputation for making creative and innovative games and we look forward to seeing what great things we can create together over the coming years.”

Relic will join Sega’s three other studios located in the US and Europe as it continues to expand in the PC, mobile, and social media games market.

So what does everyone think about Sega buying Relic Entertainment and all the recent news from THQ‘s auction which also saw Koch Media buy Volition and Saints Row?
