Sony confirms that MLB 13 The Show is not Cross-Buy

This was briefly discussed in Episode 305 of our podcast when we talked to Ramone Russell, Community Manager for MLB The Show, but today Sony has confirmed to us that MLB 13 The Show will not be a part of the Cross-Buy program. All hope is not lost though, as described in the statement that we recieved:

“MLB 13 The Show is not a part of the Cross-Buy program, however various retailers will be offering different bundled promotions similar to what was offered with last year’s MLB 12 The Show.”

Essentially, if the specific retailer chooses to do so, the pricing will most likely be (if you buy both versions at the same time):

PS3 Version – $59.99
PS Vita Version – $19.99

If things go the way they did last year, most of the “major retailers” (Best Buy, Amazon, Gamestop) will probably offer this deal.

With promises from the team that the cloud save issues that plagued the game last year won’t happen this year, it’s still a sweet deal for those that want to swap their Franchise or Road to the Show etc between the two versions.

MLB 13 The Show is scheduled to release on Tuesday March 5th, 2013
