Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection Announced

In honor of Metal Gear Solid’s 25th anniversary Konami have announced Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection for the PlayStation 3. This collection gathers in one package Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2 HD, Metal Gear Solid 3 HD( includes MSX version of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2), Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker HD, Metal Gear Solid VR Missions, and Metal Gear Solid 4: Trophy Edition. Also included in the package will be two graphic novels by Ashley Wood.

In a press release, President of Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc, Tomoyuki Tsuboi said, ” We wanted to give METAL GEAR SOLID fans the opportunity to experience the series from beginning to end, all on one console. With the collection’s multiple titles, players can truly see how METAL GEAR SOLID evolved into the critically acclaimed and beloved franchise it is today.”

No price was given at this time, but a June release was confirmed.

Now that the Metal Gear Solid franchise has been collected in one package will anyone here pick up the franchise for the first time or will this mostly appeal to the hardcore fans? Sound off in the comments.

Just a nerd from the Windy City. I’m actually really bad at describing myself because I get all self-critical and self-conscious. If I’m not tweeting I’m probably just watching Buffy or Firefly for the millionth time.
