Sony Celebrating Gran Turismo’s 15th Anniversary

The Gran Turismo franchise launched worldwide 15 years ago and to celebrate Sony is holding an event at Silverstone Circuit in Northamptonshire, England on May 15th.

At this event, Kazunori Yamauchi, CEO of Polyphony Digital, will make an announcement about the future of Gran Turismo. Sony released a teaser trailer for the event and the trailer makes a strong hint at the possibility of Gran Turismo 6 being the announcement.

Also on hand for the event will be 5 GT Academy champions showing off their skills with high speed passenger laps on the Silverstone Circuit, which has never been featured in a Gran Turismo game.

Just a nerd from the Windy City. I’m actually really bad at describing myself because I get all self-critical and self-conscious. Follow me on Twitter, @The1stMJC, to see my borderline insane rants on tv shows and other non important subjects. If I’m not tweeting I’m probably just watching Buffy or Firefly for the millionth time.

  • Man I wish I could go there. In the video they showed some of it look like game footage. Possibly GT6? I hope its still on PS3 and PS4. Do the PS3 version, get the install base and so on, than April or so of next year do a PS4 version with enhanced graphics and DLC.

That would be a great idea, releasing GT6 a couple months after on PS4.

      • I think they probably will. It is certainly a system seller. I mean GT5 did over 10million units. Damn.
