PlayStation Plus Instant Game Collection Update

At last years E3 (2012) An addition to the PlayStation Plus service was announced by Sony, it was the Instant Game Collection which was basically a group of games which would be a constant addition (each year) to the list of games offered along with the monthly games. Well another E3 is almost upon us so we get some different games in the IGC. On the 11th of June (12th in the EU) the games will be:

Uncharted 3 PicUNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception (PS3 – Single Player)

Glenn says “Even with the high expectations that I had, Naughty Dog found a way to far exceed them. The one aspect of this game that I keep going back to though, is the story. It’s an awesome representation of how a pulp comic would be written, but at the same time, the experience is even more interactive than before.”

XCOM PicXCOM: Enemy Unknown (PS3)

Josh says “As an update to the classic 1994 PC game, X-COM: UFO DefenseEnemy Unknown hits all the right notes. The essence or ‘soul’ of the original X-COM is still there which would be enough to keep fans of the series happy. The updates and tweaks to the gameplay are all for the better and just icing on the cake.”

LBPKarting PicLittleBigPlanet Karting (PS3)

Glenn says “LittleBigPlanet Karting does an amazing job at not only delivering a great Karting game, but at capturing the soul of the LBP universe in every aspect. The game really blows me away at many times, especially from a level design and environmental standpoint.”

Are these good enough to replace our current offerings which were LittleBigPlanet 2, inFAMOUS 2, and Ratchet & Clank All 4 One in the US and LittleBigPlanet 2, inFamous 2 and Motorstorm Apocalypse in the EU. Let us know what you think in the comments below!

Great replacements! Excited to try out Xcom, didn’t want to buy it because it is not my typical kind of game.

I was just about to buy it! I didn’t get LBP Karting either so this is great.

LBPK is a fine carting game. Certainly worth paying for, so to be able to grab it for free is awesome. Get it and start creating tracks! I would buy the DLC that gives you everything up front, rather than grinding..

this is awesome.. i wanted to get LPB karting, but never puled the trigger. and i wanted to play Xcom but its not my kind of game.. this is why you get PS+!

  • ChazzH69

I mentioned on Twitter earlier, we will have to do a gamer night for LBPK soon. After E3.

I don’t understand why real gamers wouldn’t subscribe. So many good games for so few dollars.

  • Geoff

Agreed, anyone who plays games on a regular basis should subscribe, chances are over the year you will get more than a few games you enjoy. The thing that always cracks me up is the people on the PS Blog forum after every PS+ update post. So many complainers. It is as if they feel they must get a AAA game every week or it is a waste of money. I look at this weeks update and my year has just been paid for.

  • Minzi

Well I only own 2 of those 3 this year.
There’s thousands of games out there, a couple more as alternatives for those of us that already own them would of been appreciated. I always buy the Sony games but I may start buying less after being stung yet again.

Collections don’t count when they’re all digital and you don’t actually own them.
