The Last of Us Sells 3.4 Million Copies


Naughty Dog’s latest game The Last of Us has been selling well, so well that Sony has released the game’s global sales figures as of July 3rd, which are an amazing 3.4 million copies. This makes The Last of Us the fastest selling new IP in PlayStation 3 history and the fastest selling PS3 title of 2013. The Last of Us was released on June 14th which means it has moved an average of 1 million copies per week.

President of Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida released the following statement:

“The teams at Naughty Dog are true visionaries and their storytelling capabilities are second to none, this title is an undisputed demonstration of that. SCE continues to be committed to delivering unique gameplay experiences that redefine the interactive entertainment industry and The Last of Us is a perfect example.”
