Strider Hiryu Returns on Next-Gen!

One of my favorite games from back in the day, Strider was truly a standout title back in the early 90’s. This reboot looks promising, but even this initial trailer shows a departure from the gameplay mechanics from the past titles. The action is faster, and you can now deflect projectiles with your sword. Also, I peed a bit when I saw him fly in on a glider, as I thought this might be an actual remake of the original. But as the camera pulled-back to show the level, I quickly noticed that there was no tower to scale.

I’m excited, and I’m glad that Capcom is attempting to revive one of my favorite franchises from the past. Let’s just hope they don’t screw it up. Full PR Text after the trailer.
