GTA V Makes Over $1 Billion in Three Days

Take-Two Interactive announced today that Grand Theft Auto V made over one billion dollars in retail sales in just three days.

The company released this information after Grand Theft Auto V became the fastest form of any entertainment to reach this milestone. That means it beat out Call of Duty in video games and the Avengers in film. This news comes after Take-Two announced that Grand Theft Auto V made $800 million in its first day which was also a record. It has been estimated that Grand Theft Auto V cost somewhere between $200-$300 million dollars to make, and if those estimates are true Take-Two made a profit on GTA V’s first day.

Strauss Zelnick, Chairman and CEO of Take-Two said:

Grand Theft Auto is a cultural phenomenon and Rockstar Games continues to redefine what can be achieved in interactive entertainment. We are incredibly proud of the extraordinary critical and commercial response to Grand Theft Auto V.”
