Final Fantasy X & X-2 HD Collection Release Date and more!


Finally (for a second time) Square Enix has announced the release date for the HD re-mastered versions of Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2. You will be able to pick up your copy of the bundle that includes the two games on March 18th, 2014 for $39.99. In addition to the release date for the PlayStation 3 version, Sakura Minaminda from Square Enix, also revealed that the PlayStation Vita version will be launching on the same day and will also be $39.99. The games will support cross save, so you can carry your adventure across devices.

You will be able to get your hands on the combo-pack in various ways as well; either at retail or on the PlayStation Store. First, both Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2 will be available on the PlayStation Store. If you choose to pick up the retail version of the game, you can buy the physical version of Final Fantasy X, which will have a code inside to download Final Fantasy X-2 from the PlayStation Store.

Finally, Sakura Minaminda revealed that for those big Final Fantasy fans, there will also be a Collector’s Edition of the game that will be available on March 18h, 2014 for $79.99. The side note here is this will only be available through the Square Enix online store.


For those of you who pick up the Collector’s Edition will receive the following:

  • Full size, 40-page hardcover art book
  • Final Fantasy X HD Remastered original soundtrack
  • Five lithographs of various, iconic scenes from the games
