Sly Cooper Movie Trailer

Our dreams have finally been answered, the Sly Cooper movie is real, not only did they announce it today but we also get a trailer. Rainmaker Entertainment Inc. and Blockade Entertainment Inc. are bringing the computer animated adventure to the silver screen. Check out the trailer here:

You may have noticed the changes to each character, the most noticeable being Murray. When speaking with the PlayStation Blog the films producer - Brad Foxhoven had this to say,

When we met with PlayStation to discuss the film last year, we proposed that the CG art style would transfer best in the leap to the big screen. Both PlayStation and Sucker Punch Productions (the original creators of the franchise) were kind enough to give us the chance to make this idea a reality. After a few months of development, the team at Rainmaker, along with director Kevin Munroe, nailed it. Well, kind of…

The modeler gave Murray the wrong helmet which was more like a motorcycle helmet – funny, but definitely NOT his signature one! And while we all loved the temp music track… which happened to be the theme to Mission Impossible… that music would have cost us a fortune to license. With those quirks worked out, we’re excited to bring you this first look and hope you enjoy it!

Sly Cooper is slated to release in 2016. The film will also be released in 3D for those who want to feel like they are in the actual Sly Cooper world.

So what do you think of the trailer? Let us know in the comments below.

I take it that the Ratchet and Clank movie is going well if Sony is giving the same company the Sly rights.

They seem to be announcing these way ahead of time. Not sure why they wouldn’t do it the end of this year or sometime next year? Unless they keep talking about it, most people will forget about it. Lets just hope it turns out good.
