MGS: Ground Zeroes defended by developer

If you have not heard yet; Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes‘ main mission can be completed in two hours. While that has made a bunch of people get all upset about this news; one person from the developer has spoken up to defend the game.

Jordan Amaro, designer at Kojima Productions, spoke with Gamespot on the issue of the game’s length and had this to say,” Are Journey and Dear Esther long? Yet they are masterpieces of video game and literature. This smearing will not stain and affect what we’re aiming to achieve with MGS, the game industry in Japan, or video games as a whole.”

He continued, “I want people to celebrate the new MGS like we used to. I’m not dismissing their concerns. But this [issue surrounding the game’s length] has been trumped-up.”

Currently Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes is scheduled to release on [UPDATED] PS4Xbox One for $29.99 (download) and $39.99 (retail) and PS3, Xbox 360 for $19.99 (download) and $29.99 (retail). [UPDATED]

Oh, and remember, Kojima himself stated that Ground Zeroes is meant as a tutorial/prequel for The Phantom Pain.

    This feels an awful lot like Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. The people at Kojima are saying here is what we have right now and for 20 bucks here is a taste. To me, there’s nothing wrong with this at all.
