MLB 14: The Show fastest selling in franchise history

Sony has revealed that PlayStation gamers love baseball. In a new post on the PlayStation Blog, Sony has revealed that the newly launched MLB 14: The Show has become the fastest selling entry in the franchise’s history.

On top of that exciting news, Sony also revealed some stats for the PlayStation 4 version of the game. To date it has exceeded the previous franchise record for most preorders, most day-one sales, and most week one sales.

Comparing MLB 14: The Show numbers to last year’s game, week one sales are up almost 40%.

Since the game launched a couple of weeks ago, almost 10 million games have been played. Within those 10 million games;

  • The Orioles are the most popular team; Yankee Stadium is the most popular ballpark
  • Over 200,000 Road to The Show careers started
  • There have been more than 5 million hits, 780,000 home runs and 500,000 stolen bases
  • In the first week, there have been more than 7 million strikeouts, 330,000 complete games, and 100,000 shutouts

MLB 14: The Show received great praises from Glenn in his reviews. Read his PS4 review, PS3 review, and PS Vita review.
