Ubisoft head Yves Guillemot has confirmed the publisher will be releasing more Assassin’s Creed titles on the PlayStation 3.

The upcoming entry, Unity, will only be available on PS4, Xbox One and PC. However, a project subtitled ‘Comet’ has been rumoured for the previous generation of consoles – on which the series was born and rose to prominence. It is likely to be announced at Ubi‘s E3 presser.

In a public investor call, Guillemot had this to say, on the future of one of gaming’s biggest franchises:

“Assassin’s Creed: Unity will be another major entry in the franchise’s history. The game will showcase the city of Paris with amazing next-gen graphics and will incorporate great new innovations that will be revealed at E3.

We have not disclosed our plan yet for the Xbox 360 and PS3 SKUs, however we have made it clear as a company that we will expect to continue supporting both consoles for the foreseeable future.”
