Garden Warfare peashoots onto PlayStation

PVZ - 1

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare has been announced for both PS3 and PS4.

EA have penciled in an August 19th launch date, whilst the Frostbite 3-powered game will be playable at Sony‘s E3 booth. The third-person shooter, previously an Xbox exclusive, offers a new perspective on the hugely popular series. Primarily a multiplayer title, the action comes in two main flavours; 24-player competitive and 4-player co-op.

Producer Brian Lindley had this to say on the news:

“Our players have already vanquished more than 400 million plants and zombies, and we can’t wait for PlayStation gamers to add to this total. They’ll see how accessible, yet deep, the gameplay is, and will get endless hours of fun out of the game.”

Earlier this week, spoof images based on PlayStation franchises emerged online via developer PopCap (below). It was confirmed today these actually relate to DLC for the upcoming release. Pre-orders will grant access to customisation packs from the worlds of Ratchet & Clank, Sly Cooper and Fat Princess.

  • Been waiting for this. Looked like a lot of fun on the XBone.

I will definitely look at getting this fun game. MS lost another exclusive! Nice job EA and Pop Cap for supporting gamers, especially 7.7 million and rising fast PS4 gamers.

    • This was always just a timed exclusive. So MS really didn’t loose an exclusive.

These timed exclusives really seem like the hurt games in the long run. I might have bought this if it had come day/date to the PS4. However now the zeitgeist has kind of moved on and I just have very little excitement for it.
