Nyko Announces New Customization Products for PS4

Director of Marketing at Nyko Technologies, Chris Arbogast, had this to say about the new modular line of products being shown at E3 for both Xbox One and PS4, “The Modular Line was built to augment the console’s functionality, ease of use, and convenience. Each Modular item is designed to attach to the console and provide a specific function while working in tandem with one another. This allows users the ability to customize their system as much or as little as they please.”

The Intercooler for PS4

The Intercooler for PS4

The Intercooler for PS4 increases the rate at which hot air leaves the console, uses a power pass-through via the console’s power cord so no extra cables are necessary and the device will turn on and off automatically with the console. How stand-by mode will affect the device is a good question. It will retail for $24.99 this Summer.

Power Pak for PS4

Power Pak for PS4

The Power Pak for PS4 is a rechargeable battery pack for the DualShock 4 with a 1000mAh Lithium Ion battery housed in a sleek casing to keep the look and ergonomics of the controller intact. The Power Pak is connected to the micro-usb and has a micro-usb pass-through for charging the controller and the Power Pak. The Power Pak has a switch so the user may decide when to use the extra battery. It is available now for $19.99.

The intercooler & charging kit sound good. And now I know what to give two of my friends for xmas. But I guess this will be my first time buying a add-on, hopefully you guys can do a (and I hate useing this word) review..

That power pak looks really interesting.

  • I personally don’t see the need for any of those. Battery pack might be useful, but looks like it might throw the weight off of the controller.

I think the built in charge kit looks really cool. The intercooler could be useful depending on how much extra heat it dissipates in my cramped little entertainment stand.
