Maisie Williams in Talks to Play Ellie in The Last of Us Movie

Some news from San Diego Comic-Con about The Last of Us movie was discussed at the Screen Gems Panel.

Neil Druckman and Sam Raimi, appeared on the panel to talk about the movie, which Sam Raimi is producing. It was announced earlier this year that Neil Druckman would pen the script and that is still the case. The major news to come from the panel is who Neil Druckman and Sam Raimi have in mind to play the role of Ellie. Maisie Williams of Game of Thrones is their choice to play Ellie and they have discussed the possibility with the actress over Twitter and in person over some coffee.

No release date has been set for the movie adaptation, but Sam Raimi did warn that the movie is years away. Here is hoping this video game actually becomes a movie and not just another announced project that never comes to fruition .
