It has finally happened, after 10 months of being the number one seller in hardware in North America the PlayStation 4 was dethroned by the Xbox One. With the help of a $50 price cut, Black Friday and Master Chief, Microsoft was been able to claim the number one spot in North America. Neither Microsoft or Sony have released numbers as of yet, but the NPD reports that the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 combined are doing 80% better than their previous generation of consoles in their first 13 months.

In other sales news, the Top Ten Software Sales for November was released with Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare taking the top spot followed by Grand Theft Auto V coming in at number two powered by the new console ports. Nintendo had a nice month in November as both Pokemon games combined to sell nearly 1.5 million units(digital+retail) and Super Smash Bros on the WiiU sold 710,000 units(digital+retail).

1.) Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (360, XBO, PS4, PS3, PC)
2.) Grand Theft Auto V (PS4, XBO, 360, PS3)
3.) Super Smash Bros. (NWU, 3DS)
4.) Madden NFL 15 (360, XBO, PS4, PS3)

Just a nerd from the Windy City. I’m actually really bad at describing myself because I get all self-critical and self-conscious. Follow me on Twitter, @The1stMJC, to see my borderline insane rants on tv shows and other non important subjects. If I’m not tweeting I’m probably just watching Buffy or Firefly for the millionth time.

    • With the price cut and bundles they were doing it was entirely expected. What would have actually been big news is if they -didn’t- hit number one.
