Plex App Coming to PS3 and PS4

Plex on PS4

Plex is on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 in Europe and Asia as of yesterday and North America should see the service on their consoles in the near future. The media management service allows users to stream their personal movie and TV show libraries from their PC or MAC to any device that supports Plex. Plex requires a subscription that runs $4.99 a month, $39.99 a year or $149.99 for a lifetime membership.

PlayStation Vita and PlayStation TV owners should not get too excited since the developers of Plex have outright stated that they have no plans currently to support those devices.

Just a nerd from the Windy City. I’m actually really bad at describing myself because I get all self-critical and self-conscious. Follow me on Twitter, @The1stMJC, to see my borderline insane rants on tv shows and other non important subjects. If I’m not tweeting I’m probably just watching Buffy or Firefly for the millionth time.

The real question is why would Vita or PSTV owners want this app? We already have the ability to manage and stream music from our PCs without having to pay $5 a month. Plus in EU they have the media streaming app, which hopefully will be coming State side soon.

    Cool app, but weird pricing!
i think Apple TV, or Chromecast would be cheaper.

Yeah I have a Chromecast and paid $15 bucks for a year for an app that lets me stream everything to my TV and my phone is the remote. Chromecast is the way better option just on price alone.
